Welsh born Alan began his singing career at the tender age of 5, performing in school concerts, leading onto amateur productions with local choral groups, such as Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. As a boy soprano he won his local Eisteddfod and performed solos with the local choir.
With his background behind him, in 1987, he teamed up with his Uncle who had 20 years experience as an entertainer, forming the duo ‘Sounds Related’. After three years the duo folded and Alan embarked on a solo career, which continues to grow from strength to strength.
Alan’s early influences include artists such as Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Jim Reeves. This reflects in the styles of music that make up his act, which includes old and new country, Irish, popular ballads and his own material.
Since being a solo entertainer he has worked alongside some popular names in show business, such as Raymond Frogatt, Shaun Michael, Brendan Shine, Mary Duff, Daniel O’Donnell, Dominic Kerwin,Ann Breen and the Woolpackers from television’s Emmerdale.
In recent times, Alan has been busy in the recording studios recording a number of albums, which are currently available. Alan’s has an entire album featuring songs which he has written himself, it is called “Two of A Kind”. Also available is Alan in a Solo Video where he is in a concert situation and it reflects his neighbouring countryside. He also recently recorded a Live Video on a Fan Club Weekend in Torquay called Home and Away which also available on Dvd and CD ( Live in Torquay).
Alan appeared on the first Llangollen International Country music weekend as one of the artists representing Wales and it is quoted by Phil Robert’s of Dune FM Radio as being “the discovery of the festival”.
With a bright future ahead of him Alan hopes to explore additional avenues and spread his wings further afield. However, he wishes to retain his strong local roots.
